Mural Illustration in Leeds: The Neville Street Gallery
We were excited to be commissioned to create artwork for Neville Street in Leeds. This honours the history, life and culture of the city. We delved into the past, present, and future culture, industrial heritage, music, nature, and the people of Leeds for this project.
Illustration in Wakefield: Introducing WX
We recently created a new illustration for the upcoming Wakefield Exchange (WX) site. We're so excited about this development, as it will feature creative business spaces and events. This will connect cultural organisations, entrepreneurs and students within the area.

Buttercrumble Takes Part in ArtWaves Festival 2021
The Buttercrumble team was honoured to take part in this year’s ArtWaves Festival. The festival boosted community spirit during the challenging COVID-19 pandemic. Additionally, it helped raise funds for charity, The Critical Fish, through the contribution of painted bird sculptures.
Uncovering a Creative Family Connection at The Hepworth
We recently uncovered a surprising family connection with the Hepworth Gallery. We had visited the gallery on numerous occasions without realising a piece of our family history was being stored in the archive.
We made the discovery in an old newspaper clipping (attached to a wedding invitation), ensuing the passing of our late Great Auntie. It referred to the painting and exhibitions in Scarborough and London that Ernest Sugden had been involved in.

This new beginning motivates us to reinvent ourselves, exercise our strengths, and remedy our foibles. I find this especially true of our young generation climbing social ladders and (literally) growing out of their former selves!
