2024: Our Year In Review

2024's motto was "rise and shine", and we certainly rose to the occasion with the launch of The Brand Power Manifesto book. Much of the year commemorated this special achievement, and we're so grateful for the opportunity to work with BIS Publishers in Amsterdam. The book has gone international!

Buttercrumble also visited clients and contacts in Spain and New York to continue our worldwide collaboration. We believe a global mindset is crucial for a creative studio. We must be open-minded to what else is out there. It provides fresh inspiration and gratitude.

Yet the fun didn't end there. Here's our annual roundup of exciting occurrences over the last twelve months…

January: Seeing our work at Beningbrough Hall

We started the year by visiting the National Trust’s Beningbrough Hall on the outskirts of York. We designed a series of interpretation panels and a leaflet for the Awesome Architect Trail. Visitors could follow the trail, answer fun questions, and immerse themselves in the Hall's history.

February: A Visit to Fuerteventura

In February, we were digital nomads to replenish our vitamin D and creative juices. We visited a gorgeous photographer, Christina Cunningham, on the island and discussed future collaborations. Watch this space!

March: BIPC’s Start-up and Grow

We are proud to be advocates for the British Library’s service. We partnered with the Business & IP Centre (BIPC) to provide support during their 2024 Start-up and Grow programme. We hosted creative workshops around branding (and its power)!

April: Photography Shoot

We always like to refresh our visuals! Our talented photographer, Sarah Oglesby, visited to take some new pictures to support our marketing for the year ahead. We hope you’ve enjoyed seeing our new images throughout 2024.

May: The Brand Power Manifesto Launch

It was exciting to see the launch of The Brand Power Manifesto. Learn more about the roadmap for branding brilliance here. A big thank you to BIS Publishers for making this happen in 2024. We celebrated the book’s arrival with a part at the Everyman Cinema in Leeds.

June: Special Event at The Grove Bookshop

This was such a special evening! Thank you so much to The Grove Bookshop for hosting our special event. We commemorated the launch of The Brand Power Manifesto with local entrepreneurs and creatives. Mike, Emily and everyone involved were wonderful. We're so grateful to everyone who attended.

July: Building Communities of Influence

We supported The Roald Dahl's Marvellous Children's Charity at the Henley Royal Regatta. The charity provides specialist nurses and support for seriously ill children. It's a cause worth backing. We illustrated guests during the day to give them a special souvenir.

August: New York, New York

We visited NY NOW and Shoppe Object to meet lovely design partners, and discover what's trending. Both tradeshows offer an insight into beautifully curated brands from all over the globe. We find new spaces and people ignite our imagination.

September: The FEZ Open Day

In September, we visited the South Lincolnshire Food Enterprise Zone (FEZ) for their Community Open Day. FEZ brings together agri-food industry professionals to share knowledge and engage with the excellent facilities. We illustrated a mural to commemorate the work FEZ does in partnership with the University of Lincoln.

October: The Mercer Gallery’s New Look

We were excited to experience our branding and signage implemented across the Mercer Art Gallery. The new designs have improved wayfinding and created a welcoming first impression to visitors.

November: A Win with Future Leaders

As part of the Future Leaders Showcase, Abigail had to present Buttercrumble's story to an audience, within 3 minutes. Abigail was selected by the judges, winning funding for our small, family business. Enterprise is tough, so wins like this mean a huge amount to us. It reminds us of the distance we've travelled.

December: Christmas Celebrations with ASK Italian

We had so much fun illustrating ASK Italian’s windows just in time for Christmas. The whole team in Wetherby were so warm and welcoming—it's a lovely restaurant, and we can’t wait to return.

Our new motto for 2025 will be: "Find strength in unity". We'll double down on our core values—creativity, communication, and community. This forms our community. Together, we’ll create work that connects and uplifts.

Thank you so much to everyone who partnered with us in 2024! We're excited to see you all again in the New Year.
