Buttercrumble Exhibits Design in London
London. It's not just the capital of the UK. It’s the creative and cultural capital, recognised globally.
Therefore, we could not pass on a trip to see Buttercrumble’s design concept exhibited at Somerset House for the London Design Biennale. We had to see the show with our own eyes and acknowledge the exciting range of creativity on display.
The London Design Biennale promotes the role of design as a global problem solver, aiding the challenges we all face. It is an international collaboration, which makes the annual show so exciting.
We took part in the Design in an Age of Crisis. All submissions responded to a call-out by Chatham House and aimed to tackle critical issues across health, environment, society and work.
Buttercrumble's concept: Chalkie's Delivery Service. The COVID crisis has raised a need to help children shift to remote learning (when required) whilst still staying connected with their school community. Yet, technology is not always accessible. This submission proposes a monthly activity pack, that would create special moments in learning and be inclusive to all.
Here's a fun fact — this wasn’t the first time we've exhibited in London. Chloe and I have seen our designs exhibited at Somerset House. Originally, this was with the National Saturday Club (whilst we were still at school)! So, it was an honour to return to London for this reason. The venue holds special memories for us.
Finally, Buttercrumble will be venturing to London again soon to embark on more creative adventures. We’re always eager to make connections, so please contact us to arrange a meeting. We’d love to hear from you.
