Acting as brand guardians for a children’s accessories brand
The brief
Buttercrumble became Light + Nine's Brand Guardians in 2019, and continues to support this New York-based brand. Light + Nine designs and produces stylish and ergonomic bags for children.
Project Aim: Design a commercially successful AW21 range of children’s accessories by placing the audience at the centre.
Objectives:
Conduct personalised trend research and creative strategy to ensure a commercially viable product design.
Complete professional renders and tech pack for manufacturers.
Design a campaign collateral to communicate the product value proposition to potential stockists and consumers.

Creative strategy and planning
We reduced risk through trend forecasting and thorough exploration of creative concepts. Predictions can give us a sense of certainty, which in turn, assists our strategy. We filtered through noise and listened to the brand’s customer feedback to produce designs which placed them at the centre.
Product design and tech packs
Once the concept was validated, we created CAD renders for Tech Packs. These included specific Pantone reference and product information to guide the manufacturer and prevent costly production mistakes.
We designed colorways for backpacks, pencil cases, and pouches, in addition to a collection of NIMIX (patches) designs.
Campaign collateral
We curated the collection into a stylish brochure which received positive feedback from buyers and helped to secure major stockists such as Neiman Marcus and Nordstrom.
